Looking Ahead to 2025

As members of the Chicago Board of Education, we are grateful for the opportunity to usher in this new chapter in CPS’ history. As we embrace our new hybrid governing model that will include 11 appointed and 10 elected Board members, we understand the significance of this unprecedented moment in time. We are standing in uncharted territory, however, as a Board we remain steadfast in our goal to break the cycles of inequity while keeping CPS students, families, staff, and our many stakeholders at the core of every Board action and discussion.  We are determined to ensure  that our teachers and staff have the resources they need to support and elevate our students. We are also focused on ensuring that our students and their families in every neighborhood of the City of Chicago have access to a top tier educational system that meets their unique needs and aspirations.

And while the journey ahead may have some uncertainties, we will continue to work with CPS administration, staff, stakeholders, and constituents to ensure we achieve the shared vision outlined in the CPS Five-Year Strategic Plan. This is and will continue to be our North Star to help guide the District and the Board.

As we welcome our newest members to the Board, we look forward to working with them, building strong relationships, and developing a consensus to always operate in the best interests of CPS students, families, staff, and the communities in which we operate.

We are ready to roll up our sleeves and embrace this historic moment to build an educational system that our students deserve and expect. We welcome your continued input and engagement.

On behalf of the Chicago Board of Education, have a safe and healthy New Year, filled with growth and prosperity for all.
